The institution was established in 2007 out of the dire need of personnel to assist with health care delivery in the country under the leadership of Mrs. Joyce Abakah-Quansah. Thus, the school established with the mandate to train middle-level cadres (Health Assistant Clinical), who will assist health care professionals to take care of the sick.

The National Accreditation Board has accredited the running of Diploma in Midwifery, Registered General Nursing and Registered Community Nursing. The Diploma in Registered Midwifery, Registered General Nursing and Registered Community Nursing became operational in the year 2012, 2013 and 2014 respectively.
The college currently runs four (4) programmes; Diploma in Registered Midwifery, Registered General Nursing, Registered Community Nursing, and Post NAP/NAC Midwifery
Currently, all the accredited programmes are for 3 years.
