Evans Owusu-Berning is a well-known Health Tutor, a Professional Nurse, experienced in teaching and with Clinical skills. He holds Masters in Health Education from the university of Cape, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (First Class Honours) from the Garden city University College, Kumasi; Diploma in Nursing from Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Cape Coast and a 3-Year Postsecondary Certificate in Education from SDA College of Education. Apart from his role as a tutor at the Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Twifo Praso, he has served and is serving in various capacities. He is currently a regular panelist on a Health programme on Second Chance TV dubbed “Beyond Medicine” which seeks to educate the public on Health Conditions; a member of Medical Outreach Programmes such as Rural Go Health Foundation, Medical Mission International, St. Jude Mobile Clinic and Compassion international Ghana offering health screening services for the under-privileged in the society. He was contracted as a visiting lecturer at Pentecost University college in 2019/2020 academic year to prepare Final year nursing students for the licensing examination. He is an examiner for the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) of Ghana and has been part of the yearly assessment of final year nursing students. During the 2023 final licensing practical examination, he was the Chief examiner for the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital. He was the head of Department for the Emergency unit at Our Lady of Grace Hospital, Breman Asikuma until September, 2015. In 2013, he was awarded for his immense contribution to the Emergency and Out-patient department of Our Lady of Grace Hospital. Currently, a tutor at NMTC Twifo Praso handling Medicine and Medical nursing, Nursing Process and Patient/Family Care Study. He has undertaken a number of online courses to update his knowledge including; Informed Consent of the TRREE training programme in research ethics evaluation, Clinical Trials Centre, Research Ethics Evaluation of the TRREE training programme in research ethics evaluation, Introduction to Research Ethics of the TRREE training programme in research ethics evaluation (all at the Clinical Trials Centre, University of Hong Kong); Introduction to Infection Prevention and Control, Antimicrobial Stewardship: A Competency-Based Approach, Health Financing for Universal Health Coverage and Engaging communities in Preventing Suicide ( all by the World Health Organization).
