I wish to welcome you to the College Library and congratulations on making the passage into the world of higher education, and assuming this new status. The learning journey continues, and the old secondary school way of life must now give way to a new way of life, driven by academic scholarship and excellence, which promises to be both interesting and exciting, but also difficult and challenging. Evidence shows that, the majority of students who drop out of college do so in their first year, due to lack of preparation, poor motivation, misalignment of expectations, and the reality of what they find when they finally arrive at College.

The key to integration and survival into this new learning environment is adaptation, and the psychological impact of such adaptation, if not properly managed, can lead to frustration and disappointments. This need not be the case for you, if you make the library your home and a place for learning support to achieve your academic ambitions.
